Ever since its debut in March end, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus has garnered mass appreciation for the design and utility packed into them. The devices officially went on sale on April 21 in the United States, South Korea and Canada. This was followed by its debut in other global regions, such as UK, France, Germany, and Italy.

Less than a month after the beginning of the sale of the devices, Samsung today said that its S series flagship devices for this year are selling well. And it further added that 5 million Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus units have already been sold internationally, reports The Investor. Don’t disregard this hefty figure as being one mentioned in a report. The same was confirmed by an official Samsung spokesperson, who continues to add,

Altqhough we cannot provide detailed figures, the sales are going smoothly around the globe. The combined sales already are beyond 5 million units.

The report, however, suggests that the said sales figure isn’t as massive as the pre-orders racked by the Korean giant. Samsung is said to have gathered more than a million pre-orders in South Korea, crossing Galaxy S7’s pre-order count of 2016 and setting up a world record for the most number of pre-orders amassed. Galaxy S8’s official sales figure during the first three weeks is not even close to the 10 million Galaxy S7 devices sold in early 2016.

This signifies that Samsung’s ‘Infinity display’ strategy is working wonders and the masses are no longer hesitant of approaching a Galaxy device. The Korean giant had a lot riding on the launch of its first flagship smartphone in 2017 as the previous year is surely a disaster and nobody wants to relive that.

However, the Galaxy Note 7 devices, which were once prone to sudden explosions, are now expected to make a return in refurbished form. It can probably arrive as early as June of this year, that too for half the original price — which would surely make it a steal for the feature set being handed down to you.

In addition, the sales figure is expected to peak ever further when Samsung finally garners a presence in 120 countries, including India, within a month’s time. The presence of major smartphone makers, Apple and Samsung, has been flailing in the Chinese market over the past couple years.

The Korean giant will make its China debut by end of May or early June to test the waters and regain a lost market. Such huge sales figures will balance out the losses amassed by the company over the last two quarters. The demand for its silicon chips and displays also continues to rise quarter-over-quarter.
