Samsung Smartwatches Now Work With Your Apple Devices

Have you been eying up one of Samsung’s latest Gear devices but know it wouldn’t work with your favourite fruit branded phone? No problem. Samsung has just released the new Gear S and Gear Fit apps to the iOS App Store. The apps bring compatibility to all of Samsung’s current range of devices; the Gear S2, S3 (Classic and Frontier) and Gear Fit 2. It’s worth noting that you won’t be getting all of the same features as you would if you were using an Android device, but you will be able to get notifications, manage the apps on your watch and view your S Health data.

The only question left is who would actually be using the Samsung watch with iOS? Apple already produces the tightly integrated Apple Watch which has a humongous app library in comparison to Samsung’s Tizen based devices. You also wouldn’t be getting the full Samsung experience without an Android/Samsung phone. The one thing you do get is the more traditional circular watch style but is that enough to get people to spend the additional money over an Apple watch?
